The Korea University (KU) Global Leadership Center and Department of Political Science and International Relations is accepting applications for the 20th National Model United Nations Conference this coming July. This year’s event will host four different conferences, each on the United Nations (UN) sanction system targeted at proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, strategy to prevent mass atrocities, sustainable development goals for post-2015, and reformation of the UN Security Council. Two of the conferences will be held in Korean, the other two in English.

All undergraduates of KU are eligible for application, while graduates and students on a leave of absence are disqualified. Meanwhile, all students who have experience at a MUN council as a delegate are also disqualified from application. After submitting the appropriate documents and passing the mandatory interview, participants will be required to pay the entry fee by April 22. A portion of the entry fee will be provided by the Global Leadership Center and Department of Political Science and International Relations.

Kim Hyun Jin (’13, Business), expressed his opinions about the event, “This seems really interesting. It seems like a good opportunity for college students to discuss about current issues and practice their presentation abilities.”

Applications are due on April 14, to the Global Leadership Center via email gldc@korea.ac.kr or offline to room 302 of the Dongwon Global Leadership Hall. For more information, check the KU portal website or contact UN Association of the Republic of Korea (UNAROK) via phone 02-774-0456~7 or email mun@unarok.org.
