Applications for the 2014 KU-China Global Leadership program are now open. Hosted by Korea University (KU), Renmin University of China (KUC), and Harbin Engineering University in a joint attempt, the program aims to educate interested students in the Chinese language and general knowledge about the nation. The program will be held for 12 weeks in both Korea and China. 4 weeks at KU during summer vacation, another 4 weeks at RUC also during summer vacation, and a final 4 weeks at Harbin Engineering University during winter program. Throughout the program, participants will be provided with a concentrated course on China and Chinese. Details on the program can be heard on April 8, at the program introduction briefing.

Any KU student is eligible for application, and those who either do not have any experience with China or are less fluent in Chinese will be prioritized as potential attendees of the program. Chosen participants are expected to pay for the airplane transportation cost and tuition fees at KU, but will be provided with the tuition fees for RUC and Harbin Engineering as well as a small sum for cultural leisure.

Kwak Geun Young ('13, Business) stated, "This seems to be like a very interesting and useful program. Especially because China is such an important nation in the world, both economically and socially."

Applications end on April 30 and should be sent via email to gldc@korea.ac.kr. Offline applications will not be accepted. Afterwards, participants will be chosen through one interview session and level, which take place on May 17. Further information on overall program can be found on the portal website of KU.
