On May 24th, one of the most awaited events of the year, Ipselenti “Jiya Hamsung” (Roar of Wisdom and Wilderness), successfully took place. This festival is a special event for Korea University (KU) students as it is an opportunity for students and faculty to gather and share the so-called KU spirit. Ipselenti was also, as it has been always, opened to other people as they can also have the chance to come and enjoy the lively and vigorous spirits of KU.

The festival consisted of various programs—for example: performances by school clubs such as Korea University Dancing Team (KUDT), and viewing videos produced by the school broadcasting systems including Korea University Broadcasting Station (KUBS) in which illustrated the rivalry but friendly relationship between KU and Yonsei University (YU). As always, one of the highlights of the festival was students’ altogether doing the school cheer with a wide range of cheering songs such as "For Elise" and "Forever". Around 9 P.M., there were also bright fireworks that decorated the evening.

Another highlight of university festivals is the celebrities who provide another type of entertainment for the students; and KU has been no exception. This year, in particular, KU boasted “mesmerizing” guest line-up more than ever. Many idol girl groups such as A pink, Dalshabet, Lady's Code and 2NE1 came. In addition, renowned singers such as Huh Gak, Kim Bum Soo, Gummy, Epik High and Yoon Hyung Joo of C’est Si Bon sang their songs and boosted up the excitement.

Suh Joon Woo (’12, International Studies) said, “I think Ipselenti is one of the best events that a KU students can experience. It is definitely a great opportunity to relieve stress from the mundane life.” Students from other university were also able to enjoy.  Lee Jae Hong (Boston University) said, “I especially like the school cheer and I was able to really feel the KU spirit.”
