Korea University’s (KU) Institute of Biomedical Science and Food Safety (IBF) and Seoul Metropolitan City’s Research Institute of Public Health and Environment (SIHE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for research and development.

   
 

On September 3, the MOU signing ceremony was held in CJ Food Safety Research Building with Professor Song Jin-Won (Medicine), Director of IBF, Chae Young-Ju, Director of SIHE, and Professor Kim Ik-Hwan (Life Sciences and Biotechnology) taking place.

KU’s IBF is an institute where professors studying food, microorganisms, and viruses gathered to develop a way to promote human health and evaluate the safety of organisms and foods. SIHE was founded in 1945 and has contributed to establishing healthy environment of Seoul Metropolitan City since then.

Major issues of the MOU include ▲experts exchange and cooperative projects ▲joint development of hazard analysis technology ▲exchange of education programs with SIHE ▲cooperation in KU students’ internship programs. With the MOU, both parties will collaborate with each other by sharing research data and information to attain the world-class level production in research and further to establish a disease-free society.
