Stepping out of Seoul City Hall station, visitors are welcomed by Deoksu Palace, one of the five palaces of the Chosun dynasty. It is famous for its beautiful stone-wall road that surrounds the palace, which is located in the middle of a bustling city. Also, it is where Emperor Gojong, the last monarch of the Chosun dynasty, strove to pursue his ambition of modernizing Chosun. Hence there is Western-style architecture side by side with traditional buildings, a unique feature only seen in Deoksu Palace. From different angles and viewpoints, GT Photo Division captured the tranquility of the palace that once housed Emperor Gojong's hopes and expectations.
