Korea University (KU) claimed victory in the final game of the annual Ko-Yon Games, soccer, thereby winning the Ko-Yon Game overall. Despite conceding first, KU made a comeback to win with a score-line 3:1.

KU started off pretty well, producing several chances, one of which almost went into the net at the seventh minute. However, it was Yonsei University (YU) who first found the back of the net with 17 minutes played. When given a free-kick chance, YU delivered the ball wide towards the right wing which was successfully passed to Kim Sung Joong (’13, Yonsei, Defender), who converted the ball into KU’s net.

KU fought back vigorously and almost came close to equalizing when Song In Hak’s (’14, Physical Education, Forward) shot was brilliantly saved by YU’s keeper. However, Ahn Eun San (’15, Physical Education, Midfielder), the player who equalized for KU in last year’s Ko-Yon soccer game, once again equalized for KU in the 35th minute. He clinically finished the rebound which initially came off the YU keeper after Ahn's shot was saved.

KU went in front just before the referee blew his whistle for the half-time break. KU’s shot was originally saved by YU’s keeper, but Lee Eun Seong (’14, Physical Education, Midfielder) successfully converted the rebound into the back of YU’s net. The first half of the game therefore came to an end with the score-line 2:1 for KU.

YU became more offensive as soon as the second-half took off. It only took three minutes for YU to receive a brilliant chance to equalize. After an error made by the KU defenders, YU was close to equalizing, but the shot came off the woodwork.

Thirteen minutes into the second-half, both sides started to reveal their shortage of stamina, as several players from both KU and YU fell to the ground, suffering a cramp. It was YU who took this chance by playing more offensively. However, YU failed to equalize as KU’s keeper, Lim Min Hyeok (’14, Physical Education, Goalkeeper), brilliantly saved a shot in the 70th minute and a dangerous shot from a direct free-kick came off KU’s defender.

KU bid farewell to YU with only four more minutes of regular time to play, when Jang Seong Jae (’14, Physical Education, Midfielder) made it 3:1 for KU. Although YU vigorously fought back, they were unable to score any more goals, thereby making sure KU won the game and the annual Ko-Yon Game.
