Camp “Collegians, Standing Together: Road” of Korea University (KU) was held from August 8 to 10, in Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. Hosted by the Korea University Student Association (KUSA) Star:zari, and student unions of many colleges, the camp aimed to restore the spirit of community within the campus as the first KU Strategy Space, by dealing with issues pertaining to the youths in the Korean society.

Members of the planning group, who were mostly volunteers, spent a month contemplating the agendas that were discussed at the camp and organizing the program. Participated by approximately 60 students, the camp included debates, presentations, and lectures handling the problems and solutions on the lack of communalism, and the agony of the Korean society.

Yu Jong Heon (‘13, School of Media and Communication), the head organizer of the program, said that, “As the members of university become individualized, they often leave their community exhausted—deprived of empathy with their colleagues. We wish to reverse this atmosphere through the camp, where the members of KU can share various values and experiences with each other.”
