The National Institute of Special Education (NISE) is holding a photo and UCC contest to commemorate the National Day of Persons with Disabilities. This contest aims to encourage people to help those with disabilities and spread awareness of the hardships people with disabilities face.

All elementary, middle, high school and college students nationwide are able to participate in this contest. Application is available until April 15, and all applicants should submit either a photo showing a close friendship between an able and disabled person or a video clip displaying practices of specialized teaching for disabled students. Submission  date is from May 16 to May 30.

All photos and video clips should be original and the to-be-submitted photos and video clips are limited to one photo or video clip per person. Each photo or video clip should come with an explanation that efficiently captures the significance of the work.

Although this contest is held by the National Institute of Special Education, submissions of the work for Korea University (KU) students can also be done through the KU e-mail written on the poster, and any related questions may be answered by the KU Center for Students with Disabilities.

“I think this is a great contest that creates peaceful camaraderie between the able and disabled without discrimination,” said Oh Juhyun (’15,Economics). This contest aims to reduce the distance between the able and the disabled
