The Korea University Social Service Organization (KUSSO) will begin a community service club accreditation program for existing community service clubs in Korea University (KU). This program aims to encourage students currently involved in different community service clubs to become active volunteers. Clubs that apply for this program will be evaluated based on their past activity and progress.

The application date is until March 30, and the result will be released during the first week of April. The date is subject to change, and the application form is available for everyone on the KU portal webpage. Applicants are expected to submit their application form at the KUSSO office located at the second floor of the 4.18 memorial hall.

Clubs selected by the KUSSO for the program will receive several benefits from KUSSO and KU including financial aids and advertisement sponsors during community service festivals. Selected groups will also be advertised via the KUSSO homepage. A network will also be created for the selected community service clubs and members of each club will be provided a certificate of participation.

“KU currently is short of clubs that participate in community service,” said Kim Na Yun (’15, Political Science and International Relations). “This program encourages non-community service clubs to participate in community service by providing incentives.” It is expected that this program could open the door for KU students to a wider spectrum of community service.
