The 6th Model Reunification Presentation Competition was hosted by Youth Federation for World Peace (YFWP) and sponsored by Tongil Education Council and Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) at the Korea University (KU) College of Political Science & Economics on November 7. Eight college teams participated with over 200 audiences in attendance at the competition.

This event was held in order to fortify college students’ ability to take the responsibility in beginning a new age of reunification by imagining a world where South and North Korea has reunified. The competition started off with the welcoming speech of Moon Sang-Pil, the president of YFWP, the congratulatory address of Kim Sa-Won, the standing co-chairman of Tongil Education Council, the words of encouragement of Son Dae-Oh, the president of The Professors World Peace Academy, and the lecture of Professor Kim Su-Min (Department of Global Korean Studies, Sunmoon University).

The members of the eight participating teams came up to the podium and presented on the topic of ‘The Korean Peninsula after the Reunification of the South and North’ for the total duration of around two hours. Kim Bum-Joon, a second-year student at Pohang University of Science and Technology won the Honorable Grand Prize. In his award acceptance speech, Kim said, “The competition was a good chance for me to ponder with hope and gravity what role I should serve in the coming age of reunification.”
