From October 28 to December 13, a special exhibition Dokdo, Island of Five Senses will be held at the Korea University (KU) Museum. To celebrate, the opening ceremony of this exhibition was held on October 28 at 5:00 P.M.

Dokdo, Island of Five Senses aims to present the beauty of Dokdo Island itself, as well as the surrounding East Sea. The exhibition is organized by Ensemble La Mer et L’lle, a cultural artist association which has been carrying out culture and art activities regarding Dokdo Island and the East Sea.
 
36 artists have contributed and participated in this exhibition; among the artists include Lee Jong Sang, who has painted Dokdo from 1977, and Sun Woo Young, a renowned North Korean painter for depicting this island. Lee Ham Jun, the head of Ensemble La Mer et L’lle, said, “Through the utilization of art, the East Sea and Dokdo are sublimated into our sea, our island that coexists and breaths within our daily lives.”
 
During the exhibition period of Dokdo, Island of Five Senses, numerous seminars are also celebrated at the KU Museum from organizations that study Dokdo Island and the designation of East Sea, in order to encourage further interest on this topic.
