The 2015 UN Climate Change Conference will be held in Paris, lasting from November 30 until December 11. This is the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP), thus aims to reach a legally binding universal agreement on climate that all nations of the world are willing to support.

Representing the stance of the EU, ambassador Sabathil stated, "A lot has been done, but not enough, yet." He mentioned the statement of President Park Geun-Hye at the past UN General Assembly in New York, that "climate change should not be considered as a burden, but as an opportunity," and added that the EU agrees to this claim.

Ambassador Sabathil finished by emphasizing the expectations that the world has towards Korea, as it is in an important state in terms of the international climate architecture. He urged for Korea's effort to "decrease the level of carbon dioxide emission," as the EU has worked hard to reach today's result, and is continually encouraging others to do the same.
