The Korea University (KU) May Festival Week has finally started. From May 18 to May 21, the Minju Plaza in front of Woo Dang Hall will be filled with booths by many clubs, each presenting fun events and foods. The Granite Tower (GT) was also one of them, selling slushes and providing a polaroid event for visitors until May 19. Other places around campus, including the Central Plaza, are already crowded with booths selling clothes, accessories, and other utile products.

The concept of this year’s festival is a train trip, which is why the festival is named KU Rail. “We wish students enjoy new experiences and pleasures,” said Ha Ji-Yeon (’13, School of Media and Communication), the Head of the KU Festival Preparation Committee. “We hope students to take a break, away from the hectic school life, and feel like they are traveling by train,” she added. Thanks to the fruitful plan prepared by the committee over the past two months, this year’s festival already seems to have accomplished its goal.

Apart from the makeshift bars prepared by freshmen of each major, the evening campus will be lightened by daily events on the main stage. Following yesterday’s band contest, today there will be a contest between the major chefs of Anam restaurants. On Wednesday, the famous girl group EXID will come as a guest for the League of Legends contest, and as the closing ceremony on Thursday, the hip-hop group Epic High will come.
