Yesterday, from 4 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., Lee Ung-Beom, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LG Innotek, gave a lecture about the vision of his company. The lecture was held in Room 101 in the International Center for Converging Technologies building. Many students from Chemical and Biological Engineering and Material Science Engineering participated in the program.

Lee Ung-Beom began his lecture by pointing out that the market “has changed into a material-based one” He greatly stressed the importance of individual parts and, to illustrate his point, he showed the audience two 10-minute long commercials which featured some of LG’s products.

What awed the audience for a short moment was when Lee decided to show off Google Glasses, an unseen product to the public which has been only sold to developers due to technological and social issues. With the gadget, he mentioned that the camera in the product were manufactured and designed by his company and stressed how vital individual parts were.

The lecture ended with some pieces of advice he wanted to give to upcoming engineers and possible LG employees. On the Powerpoint, he showed the Chinese word, Soo Chuh Jak Doo, which meant that one shall become the true master wherever one goes. Through this, he concluded the presentation by saying, “Wherever you work, if you give your best, then you can become the master in that field.”
