Until April 30, students in Korea University (KU) can register for the Asian Students Environment Platform (ASEP) 2015. Held third time this year, ASEP is hosted by the AEON Environmental Foundation in Japan. Universities from each of the six countries have been selected as participants, and KU was chosen as the Korean representative.

This year’s theme is biodiversity and human. All programs will progress in English, taking place at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. It will be held from August 3 to 9, and all fees during the programs will be funded by the AEON Foundation. Students can apply for the program if they are in an environment-related major, but students of any major interested in environmental issues can also participate. A total of 12 KU students will be selected.

Those wishing to apply should first submit application papers including motives and résumé until April 30, 5 P.M. Those eligible for interview will be selected based on application papers and will be informed personally afterwards. Interview will be held on May 6, using both Korean and English. Participants who passed the screening process will be informed personally via e-mail on May 11.

“As environmental issues are of global concern, international approaches will be more effective. In this perspective, ASEP will be a valuable opportunity to discuss environmental issues effectively, as it involves participants from multiple countries,” said Park So Yeong (’14, International Studies). Participations of students with passionate interest in environment are awaited.
