Last semester, Korea University (KU) Institute for Social Responsibility (KUISP) recruited multiple teams of undergraduate students to participate in various local activities to analyze various problems happening in the community and present solutions. The program was called “Changemakers”, for their aim was to help undergraduate students learn how to bring about sustainable changes. The Changemakers held a final report session at the CJ Creator Library (CCL) Event Hall on January 16, 2024. Each team gave a presentation explaining and sharing the results of their activities throughout the 8 weeks of their participation.

The head of KUISP, Shin Jaehyuk, opened with a congratulatory message by expressing his thanks for the participants and added that the report session should not be the end of their social responsibilities. Next, the Changemaker teams presented each of their activities which included improvements for fire vulnerable area in Changsin-dong and barrier-free KU campus, and improvement of senior citizens collecting discarded paper.

Mr. Shin wrapped up the session by encouraging the participants, stating that their items have enough potential to start an actual business that could positively impact the society. The Changemaker groups will continue their hands-on local activities based on the 8 week program of last semester.
