Social media activism, often celebrated as a symbol of resilience and resistance, has not been immune to criticism, particularly from seasoned commentators. Nevertheless, the power of social media platforms lies in their unparalleled global and cross-generational reach. Notably, TikTok has proven its capacity to enlighten and engage over one billion daily users on critical issues, ranging from climate change to shedding light on overlooked humanitarian and political crises. In this survey, The Granite Tower (GT) explores the perspectives of 100 Korea University (KU) students regarding the role of social media in promoting activism, especially in times of war.
