On September 13, LG CNS and Korea University announced a new partnership agreement to foster talent in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and data science. Through this collaboration, a new academic department, provisionally named "AI and Data Science," will be established within Korea University's graduate school. The innovative program is set to offer numerous benefits to students, including full tuition coverage and partial living expenses support. More significantly, they will be guaranteed job positions at LG CNS after graduation.

Commencing next year, the department intends to admit over 20 graduate students annually, with the program also open to international applicants. The curriculum and courses are to be developed by professors from Korea University's Institute of Data Science, as well as experts in data and AI from LG CNS.

The partnership represents a strategic move from LG CNS to bolster its competitive edge in the realm of digital transformation, following previous successful collaborations with Chung-Ang and Seoul National University (SNU). In a statement by Hyun Shin-gyoon, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of LG CNS emphasized the need to secure individuals equipped with expertise and problem-solving skills. He expressed a commitment to collaborating with Korea University to cultivate the next generation of data and AI experts, thereby enhancing the quality of services provided to their customers.
