On May 5, 2023, Korea University (KU) celebrated its 118th founding anniversary at the Incheon Memorial Hall. Attendees of the event included chairman of the Korea University Foundation Kim Jae Ho, KU’s President Kim Dong Won, and president of the Korea University Alumni Association Sung Myung Ho. President Kim spoke during the ceremony about how today marked “a ceremonious occasion of laying out KU’s vision of the future for the school’s 120th anniversary.” The president’s speech was followed by an award ceremony congratulating the achievements of KU graduates, faculty, and other related individuals.

To commemorate KU’s 118th birthday, the campus grounds was open to the public along with a variety of special events. One notable program was a one-to-one admissions counseling session held on the first floor of the SK Future Hall, where prospective students could receive personalized guidance and feedback on applying to KU. A live stage was also prepared by the Class of ’79 acapella group, KU’s street performance band *ATP*, hip hop club *Terra*, the KU *Nongakdan*, and KU Cheerleaders. Despite the harsh downpour, the Hana Plaza pulsed with the echoes of *Baetnorae* and *For Elise* sung by students, alumni, and their families.
