Korea University (KU) has established a student exchange agreement with the California State University (CSU) System. KU and the 23 campuses within the CSU system are to interchange up to 20 exchange students per semester. Campuses in the CSU system include nationally acclaimed universities such as California State University Long Beach, California Polytechnic State University, and San Diego State University.

The exact date of commencement of the joint exchange programs is to be announced in the coming days along with further details. In an official statement, KU’s International Mobility and Cooperation Team unveiled prospects of the establishment of a local KU office within the CSU system for expected cooperation on “graduate schools, research, joint-degree programs, and further short-term exchanges.”

In 2021, KU previously established an exchange agreement with the University of California (UC) System, with an agreement to exchange up to 200 students per semester. The UC and CSU systems are two of the most populous and prestigious public university systems in the United States (U.S.) When compared to the UC system, the CSU system is expected to offer KU students a more diverse and affordable campus experience, with a heavier focus on vocational opportunities.
