Korea University (KU) Research and Business Foundation hosted the “KU Tech Fair for CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2023” on August 23, at Hana Square. The CES, colloquially named the biggest tech event in the world and hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), opens the ground for technology brands to find new partners and innovations to be introduced to the public.

The “KU Tech Fair for CES 2023” was held under the BRIDGE+ program, a national program dually funded by the Ministry of Education and National Research Foundation of Korea. This marks the second time KU enters the CES, with its main intention being to boost creative innovation from university students and attract foreign investment by broadcasting KU’s technological excellence.

This year, 11 teams joined the fair to present and demonstrate their technological inventions. Proposed items include water purifiers utilizing oyster shells, user-friendly order management systems, and weight-training services backed up by artificial intelligence (AI). The seven teams chosen as winners of the fair are to be rewarded the complete participation fees of CES 2023 and a chance to receive up to 200 million Korean Won (KRW) of investment from the Korea Investment Accelerator.
