Tucked into the corner of an alley behind the main street in front of the main gate of Korea University (KU) lies a small restaurant with only four unique items on its menu. A sliding door opens to a comfortable space with about a dozen seats. If the restaurant is busy, students may use the reservation kiosk in front of the building.

The owner of Misikbonjwa, Hoon ‘David’ Seok, re-opened the restaurant in June of last year. He says he chose to operate in Anam of all places because he likes to hear the students in the area speaking passionately about their futures.

The most popular item is the tomato and cheese beef over rice, which is reminiscent of European dishes, except with a unique Asian twist and several side dishes, including mashed potato, cabbage salad, and yogurt. At 7,000-8,000 Korean Won (KRW) per meal, the restaurant is a great place to grab lunch or dinner near campus.

Misikbonjwa is open Saturday to Thursday, 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M.. There is a break time from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. and last order reservations are available at 8:30 P.M..
