Korea University Business School (KUBS) Startup Station, an institution supporting KU students’ startup businesses, hosted the “2022 Spring CHOO CHOO Day” on May 13th. “CHOO CHOO Day,” an event for a startup demo day where KU entrepreneurs present their products and services, is held twice a year. It helps KU startup businesses attract initial investment from companies and venture capitals and offers many opportunities for KU startup businesses.

One of the seven corporations that presented their business items is “ykring,” a team that created the application “Xircle” to provide a platform for university students to make friends online. Their main target is the MZ generation, who have not yet fully experienced the campus life due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The application’s main difference from other social networking services (SNS) is that it ensures transparency by requiring a school email address for authentication and using a real-name system.

KUBS Startup Station was founded on September 2016 as the first startup research institution in universities within Korea. It holds an annual competition, Startup Express, where selected teams are awarded 3 million Korean Won (KRW) and the opportunity to utilize the Iljin Center for Startup Incubation, along with startup training that will help their establishment as a corporation.
