On October 20, Korea University (KU) was awarded the ‘2021 Entrepreneurship Education Excellence Award’ at the 2021 University-Industry Cooperation Expo (UICEXPO). The UICEXPO is an annual award ceremony that selects universities that have the most ambitious business programmes as well as the most accomplished in bettering the advancement of entrepreneurship as a whole.

KU has continuously strived towards the establishment of platforms that enable such ideals. Having previously been the recipient of the same award in 2018, KU has not let their efforts slip since then, recording a 200% increase in attendees for entrepreneurship lectures, as well as a 110% increase in business-related clubs. KU’s accomplishments did not end there however, hosting a multitude of different in-school infrastructure such as the KU Pi-Ville, the Start-up Research Center and the Campus Town Support Center.

KU President Chung Jin-Taek expressed his sentiments on how “this award represents the fruit of the constant effort, interest, infrastructure and education related to student entrepreneurship that KU has provided,” and added that “KU will strive to spearhead the spread of start-up culture by maintaining its unique entrepreneurship-friendly environment.”
