On April 6, Korea University (KU) announced that the Creative Convergence Design Program of the Graduate School of Art and Design was selected for the New Technology Integrated Design Education Project, newly initiated by the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE). As its name suggests, KU’s Creative Convergence Design Program is jointly run by the collaboration of the School of Art and Design, the College of Information, and the Department of Psychology. The MOTIE’s new project aims at fostering young experts specializing in technology-integrated design through shared educational collaborations among several selected universities and companies.

The Creative Convergence Design Program starts its first semester in the second half of this year, with its curriculum mainly featuring Data-Engineered User Experience (UX) Design Program. Professor Yoo Seung-heon (School of Art and Design) commented, “Through active participation in the new programs, we expect to foster young experts in new technology-integrated design based on big data technology. We await new applicants who want to experience creative futuristic designs here at KU.”
