Following his first Korean Massive Open Online Course (K-MOOC) lecture in 2017, where he introduced the economic history of China, and his selection as the best K-MOOC lecturer of 2020, Professor Cho Young Hun (Department of History Education) was once again selected to teach another MOOC course, ‘The Pioneers of Asian History + @’.

The lecture centers on the key points of Asian history, the varying cultural customs that 21st century Koreans should be accustomed to, and historical viewpoints leading into the future. In its pursuit of investigating Asia’s historically significant issues, individuals, and their relationship with Korea, the lecture fully utilizes the capabilities of the MOOC system by integrating interviews of famous historians in the form of miniature documentaries. Professor Cho further expressed his hopes that the lecture would “provide both information and a directional goal to students looking towards majoring in history.”

Besides Professor Cho’s select lectures, Korea University (KU) has been funding and operating MOOC lectures since its election as a K-MOOC leader university in 2015. With over 29 lectures under its belt, KU is looking forwards to releasing another six more this year.
