The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a professional association of electrical engineers based in New York, recently announced its decision to accept Korea University’s (KU) very own Professor Park Jung-ho (Department of Electrical Engineering) as one of their senior members, putting him within the ranks of some of the most prestigious professionals around the world.

Being one of the top leading organisations of engineering, the IEEE is well known for having strict restrictions on the kind of individuals that they accept as senior members. Requiring at least ten years of experience in a single field along with five years of constant research effort to even be eligible for application, Professor Park’s acceptance does well to reflect his spectacular career so far.

With continued studies on semiconductors and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology at KU since 1995, along with experience as the vice president of the Korean Institute of Electric Engineers (KIEE), it is to no surprise that Professor Park’s application was accepted. Many view this as a signal to look forward to further brilliant research from Professor Park in the future.
