On February 9, the head of Korea University (KU)’s big data convergence research group and the chief executive officer (CEO) of DigiCAP met on a public platform to sign a joint agreement with business intent. The goal of this mutual collaboration is to facilitate Big Data Research and artificial intelligence development in technological commercialization. KU’s research group seeks to create research results with their business collaboration, placing special emphasis on digital innovation in the fourth industrial revolution. DigiCAP Ltd.’s specialty includes digital broadcasting and telecommunications, and is responsible for commercializing the world’s very first terrestrial Ultra-High-Definition (UHD) broadcasting solution on Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) 3.0.

These agreements signify a shift in future technological priorities. Han Seung-woo, CEO of DigiCAP Co., Ltd. stated that this collaboration itself is a meaningful contribution to the shift in the markets themselves. Big data and artificial intelligence are engines that are important in the present and the futures, which will integrate themselves in commercial markets, education, tourism, and medical services. The programs provided by DigiCAP are prime to contribute to these markets currently, and both sides hope that this collaboration will help in making headway to these markets.
