January 26 saw the four respective campuses of Korea University (KU) and Yonsei University (YU) – both Seoul campuses of KU and YU, along with their satellite campuses in Sejong and Wonju respectively – hold their second collaborative forum together on revolutionizing university education. The forum was quoted by KU Communications Team member Moon Seok-hwan to be a response to “the fast changing environment of education influenced by the fourth industrial revolution, the dawn of information based society, and the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).”

The forum, in an effort to actively acknowledge the danger of COVID-19, was held entirely online, with participants viewing the various presentations through Youtube. This tied in with the starting section on “Winning strategies of the digital revolution leading the new normal” by Naver Managing Director Kim Hong-jin. Subsequent sections were prepared by various members of the faculty and student body of both colleges, showcasing novel examples such as the XR Frontier in EduTech and the KU AI Advisor that recommends courses for freshmen.

The Innovation Support Projects of both universities expressed their hopes that forum would help ‘construct a sustainable education environment and facilitate networking betwixt universities by discovering revolutionary educational paradigms based on collaborative governance and diversity.’
