On November 15, the Korea University (KU) Emergency Central Steering Committee announced that eight students from the ice hockey club tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). According to the Office of Student Affairs, "After the first confirmed case was released on November 13, a contact examination was conducted." As a result, eight out of 25 people had tested positive.

In addition to the statement provided by KU, it also informed the movements of six KU students. These locations include the Ice Rink, Central Plaza, College of Medicine Medical Building #1, New Engineering Building, College of Engineering Building, SK Future Hall, Woo Jung Information & Communications Building, Hyundai Motor Hall, and the International Center for Converging Technology.

The KU Emergency Central Steering Committee stated that they would notify the KU community if there is any additional information about more confirmed cases and their location. They also recommended students to undergo voluntary examination if they believe they had close contact with the confirmed students or if they were in those locations at the given time.
