People have been so busy chasing the prospect of a brighter future that they forget to live and enjoy the present. However, as the precarious situation with the pandemic is slowly establishing stability, people are reaching a point where they reflect on the overall impact the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has had on their daily routines.

During the COVID-19-induced lockdown, people have started to uncover truths about their lives that were not as clear to them before they were forced to stay inside and rethink the decisions made so far. When everything is put on hold, the mediocrity of unnecessary needs becomes clearer and priorities are rearranged.

Better late than never is a straightforward idiom that is commonly used to imply that a belated achievement is better than not reaching it at all. This particular saying is one that is versatile and frequently used in everyday situations. Although far from being an “everyday situation,” the COVID-19 has allowed some people to realize that it is never too late to make a positive change in lifestyle. The Granite Tower’s (GT) last issue this semester, amidst the chaos of the pandemic, attempts to deliver articles that reflect the concept of change for the better. The news topics that are covered in this edition will allow readers to see the slow—sometimes late—steps being taken towards creating a better place for everyone.

In completing my final issue as Editor-in-Chief, I would like to address my deepest gratitude to the special editors and GT journalists who have worked hand in hand and pulled through the arduous schedule despite the circumstances. I am confident that my remaining reporters will demonstrate this resilience in the production of future editions of GT and wish nothing but the best for their future endeavors.
