On March 30, Korea University (KU) was selected as the organizing institution of the Early Start-up Package Program from 2020 to 2022. The program, arranged by the Ministry of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Startups (MSS), aims to support the growth of early ventures. In particular, it funds start-ups established within 3 years in the fields of innovation and new industry up to 100 million won and provides specialized programs. Accordingly, KU is planning to discover prospective start-up companies and design various start-up support programs through a government aid of 7 billion Korean Won during the term.

Furthermore, KU stated that a total of 20.8 billion Korean Won is prepared for investment sources and foundations through specialized investment organizations. In addition, the KU Crimson Start-up Support Foundation, as the control tower of start-up support departments within KU, will provide extensive support reflecting the characteristics and autonomy of each department.

Professor Heo Jun (Department of Electrical Engineering), the head of the KU Crimson Start-up Support Foundation, stated that KU will continue to provide support for start-ups through cooperation with start-up agencies and active investments.
