 On May 9, Korea University (KU) hosted the KU people’s night. The event was held at the Main Hall. Graduates and professors of KU attended the event to celebrate the school’s 107th anniversary.

The event included award ceremony of the KU people that made contributions to the school and the society. The awards included KU award, social award, achievement award, granite lecture award
The Proud KU award went to Kim Su Hyun (’61, Department of Korean Language &Literature) and Kim Young Ki (’80, Physics Department). Kim Su Hyun is famous for writing many scripts of famous South Korean soap operas and movies. Kim Young Ki is a famous physicist who made many contributions in the scientific realm.
The social award went to Choi Byung Han (’68, Department of Medicine). The award of Proud KU alumni award, went to Kim Yuna (’09, College of Sports Education). Kim Yuna retired from her athlete career after attending the 2014 Winter Sochi Olympics. She honored the school by receiving many awards at winter Olympics. She was one of the youngest people to receive the Proud KU alumni award, which is given to any alumni that made contribution to honor the school.

The award was also given to the professors that received high lecture review from the last semester. The school’s president Kim Byung-Chul hosted the event and gave the alumni an opportunity to interact with each other.
