▲ cheer leaders of Korea University by Song You Jin
On April 3, 2014 Korea University’s (KU) Green Field was crowded with KU and Yonsei students who came for the joint cheering orientation. The joint cheering orientation is one of the biggest school events that happen annually where students from each school can learn the cheering moves of each other. By learning the cheer moves, they are not only preparing for the Annual Ko-Yon Games that will be held during the second semester, but also giving students from each school a chance to interact with each other.

The location rotates every year, and the orientation was held at Yonsei University last year. Students are excited to hear that the orientation is happening at our “home ground.” “Last year KU students had to go to Yonsei University for the occasion, and many students complained because the campus was too far. “This year, I am so glad that we can stay in our campus. I hope that we could share our school culture with the Yonsei students, and also get an opportunity to interact with them.” Kim Jin Suk (’13, Philosophy) the number of KU students attending the event will also increase because the event is held at our own school. The event will be held from 6:00p.m. until 9p.m.

Even after the event, each department from the two schools will meet up and get an opportunity to interact. The joint cheering orientation will be especially exciting for freshmen students since it is the first school event that involves Yonsei University. It will be a good way to start off their first year of college life.
