Korea University (KU)’s weight lifting club Ryuk Do Bu held its 50th body building contest in November 12, at Inchon Memorial Hall starting from 7 P.M.. Throughout its long history starting from 1937, the club is unchanging in its aims to amplify the beauty of the body, especially the body of its male members.

The contest was consisted of three parts. The first was a preliminary round which went on to the finals after a recreation time in between provided by the dance team of Dongduk Woman’s University (DWU). Participants posed on stage in front of five judges. Each participant had a different theme and it was entertaining to watch men pose to maximize their most confident parts with different music and poses. Camera flashes exploded and the audience cheered heartily.

Park Byeong Yoon (’13, Foreign Language and Literature) who is one of the two freshmen that made it to the finals said, “The 50th Body Building contest was very gratifying. I was able to push my body to its limits and experience bliss after seeing the outcome. This experience has taught me a lot.”
