Korea University (KU)’s Basketball Team, winner of Pro-Amateur Ultimate Tournament, has proven that they are invincible on court on the first day of the Annual Ko-Yeon Games in September 27. The atmosphere in the stadium was livid. KU students have never been so united before when they sang the winner’s song of “Shanty (Bet-no-rae)” towards Yonsei University (YU). Both the players and students of KU were satisfied with the results of the game.

The game had not started out positive when YU had a higher score when the first set ended. Tension between KU and YU was mounted and showed on court the first time three minutes into the second set. However, after player number 33, Lee Seung Hyun ('11, Physical Education) came in, scores soared and YU ended the second set without any profit. Lee spoke in an interview after the games with the Granite Tower that, “I am happy for all my teammates who worked so hard.” He added jokingly that, “I think our team score exploded because I came in the second set.”

Many attribute KU’s victory to coach Lee Min Hyeong ('89, Physical Education) and the team’s captain Park Jae Hyun ('10, Physical Education), who is number 7. KU’s basketball team has never been so strong. All players were passionate throughout the game. Especially number 32, Lee Ho-Young ('12, Physical Education), and 10, Moon Sung-Kon ('12, Physical Education) were the aces on the court. They scored at least four times each quarter.

The games ended with KU students shouting the countdown before five seconds of the last set.
