On April 4, Korea University (KU) invited Sung Kim, U.S. ambassador to the Republic of Korea, to have a town hall meeting, entitled “60 years of Partnership and Shared Prosperity”, from 4 P.M. at KU SUPEX Hall, LG-POSCO Building (4F). Sung Kim is a former U.S. special envoy for the six-party talks. The meeting was held by KU Ilmin International Relations Institute.

Students from different majors and classes attended the meeting. Foreign students at KU were also eager to listen to the ambassador. The town hall meeting focused on active interactions with students and the ambassador rather than on a speech done by Kim. It mainly proceeded with students’ questions which were about partnerships and relations. Specifically, students asked about Korean-American relations, issues on American forces, and about relations with North Korea. Sung Kim, in response, talked about crucial elements for keeping long-lasting strong, trustworthy partnerships.

Throughout the meeting, he constantly emphasized the importance of finding ways to work for future.
