According to Gustav Freytag, there are five stages in a narrative structure of the following: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. If the September issue of The Granite Tower (GT) is viewed as the exposition, then the October issue is definitely the rising action. The former issue, with each article having its own distinct color and layout, felt like an outcry of all the reporters as they took on both light and heavy issues simultaneously. However, the October issue was centered on a single topic, the action of language.

GT has covered some library policies; Korea University (KU) graduates can enter the library, but they cannot check out any books. On the other hand, the KU Literature Club gives students the opportunity to discuss literature. GT picked a book on Yoon Dong Ju for its book review. Emoticons have become another way of expressing oneself. A voice actor shares his stories on how he expresses himself behind the scenes. Many foreigners are coming to Korea to learn Korean, and Hangeul is also used in fashion design. GT photographers captured Paju Book City in pictorial form.

The congruence in overall layout gives GT a sense of unity. It is hard to pinpoint any falling action when improvement is the leitmotif.
