On October 20, the Youth Social Participation Presentation Competetion (YSPPC) took place at Korea University (KU)’s Centennial Memorial SAMSUNG Hall. This event was co-hosted by KU Korean Society Research Center and Korea Democracy Foundation. In the event, youth who had been selected were invited to present their ideas on various social problems in diverse sectors such as school, government, and family.

The selection process lasted from April to August. Youth who were interested were to send their records of social participation. Eventually, only 12 teams were selected to present their opinions. The 12 groups dealt with problems concerning multiculturalism, school environment, local community, and so on. Cheon Hee Wan, a teacher at DaeYoung High School, who evaluated almost 110 reports submitted by students all over the country commented, “Through this competition, participants would have been able to have a clear understanding of public policy and constructive social participation.”
