At 2:00 P.M. on September 26, Sir John Daniel gave a speech in a auditorium full of professors and students at the International Studies Hall. Having served as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and president of Commonwealth of Learning, Sir John Daniel is one of the leading scholars in the field of applying technology for advanced education. Invited by Korea University (KU) as a part of a fellowship, he wrote a research paper during his time as a fellow here.

Sir John Daniel gave a speech about the future of open learning in higher education which was also the topic of his research paper. He explained extensively about Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and whether they will change higher education for the better. Addressing the myths and confusions regarding the recent boom of MOOCs in international universities all over the world, he suggested solutions to the problems existing in the status quo. Many students and professors attended to listen to Sir John Daniel speak for about an hour about the recent boom of online courses.
