On February 27, Korea University (KU) announced to carry out classes online for the first two weeks of the spring semester. The statement was announced on the KU Portal to Information Depository (KUPID).

Due to the rising concerns regarding the domestic outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), KU decided to convert offline classes to online from March 16 to 27. Such change of course operation is aimed to protect the health and safety of KU students and the local community. However, courses which involve experiments or practice activities will be held at the discretion of professors.

Announcements for individual courses are expected to be uploaded on the announcement section on the KU Blackboard website. KU encouraged students to regularly check the Blackboard website as there may be changes according to each course. Furthermore, the manual for online classes is to be posted on the KU Kultips website managed by the KU e-Learning team.

The change of course operation is expected to contribute to the effective protection of KU faculty members and students.
