On May 7, a group of students posted a campus wall poster revealing inadequate administration of the Department of Health and Environmental Science Student Union. The poster discloses the student union’s nontransparent financial management and culpable negligence on administration.
Through the wall poster, students first point out the student union’s vagueness in managing money. In the beginning of the spring semester, freshmen submitted substantial amount of money as operational expenditure for the student union. However, students have been uninformed abount the exact usage of their money due to lack of documented histories on budget usage since November, 2018. Furthermore, the student union appears to be rarely attentive towards communication among students of its own department. It have not released stenographic records of regular meetings, making it difficult for the students to engage in discussions regarding important issues such as how to use the department’s room. Students also showed discontent toward the student union in that it did not make proper announcements before school events and did not participate in the joint action led by Korea University student union (KUSU) to improve the educational environment on campus.
Students who have gathered to correct the systematic flaw in the student union of the department of Health and Environmental Science are hoping for a change. However, there is no official statement that shows the current stance of the student union.
