On November 3, the last day of 2017 Korea University (KU)’s Human Rights Week: Soom, a talk concert with Eun Ha Sun, the author of Selfish Sex: Their Sex Is Wrong (2015), was held at SAMSUNG Centennial Hall. Covering the topic of “Did You Like It,” the event tried to “regain women’s power to freely talk about sex and reflect on female suppression prevalent in our society” by conversing about women’s desire.

“The topic of our talk concert is “Did You Like It?”. Why ask a question like that? It is to get a positive response after sexual intercourse. Commenting on whether the sex was good or bad, is tabooed in our society; if asked, women are implicitly forced to say yes. If she says no in that situation, it implies that she had experience. Thus, she often cannot say honestly about sexual intercourse,” Eun explained the talk show’s title.

Eun went on with her speech, delivering her insights to address sexual irrationalities that are common in our daily lives. For example, she raised a hare that while boys are allowed to talk about their penis and even show it to their peers, such actions are strictly prohibited for girls. She also pointed out that men are more socially condoned and understood if they commit sexual crimes. At the end of the talk concert, Eun drew lots and her book Selfish Sex were given to the winners.
