On September 15, the conference on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the Countermeasure of the Congress took place in the Centennial Memorial SAMSUNG Hall of the Korea University (KU). The conference was hosted by the KU Board of Interdisciplinary Communication and included a lecture given by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Chung Syekyun (’71, Law).

Chung briefly introduced himself and proceeded to discuss the status quo of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. He provided details on the prototype technologies of Artificial Intelligence (AI), such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data. He also demonstrated statistics concerning how the masses think of this revolution, especially on the relationship between technological development and employment.

Jung stated, “Aside from the controversy, the Fourth Industrial Revolution will bring immense change to our everyday lives.” He said that the Congress is already responding to the massive shift in the landscape of industry, by creating various associations and research facilities. Chung emphasized how these institutions will help the Congress to adhere to its vision of establishing industries related to the fourth industrial revolution.
