On August 17, the 2017 Asia Tri-lateral Seminar was held at LG-POSCO Business Hall. Professors from Korea University (KU) of Korea, Hitotsubashi University of Japan, and Peking University (PKU) of China gave lectures and shared their opinions on the topic of “Corporate Strategies in China, Japan, and Korea in the New Normal Era.”

Professor Kwon Soo Young, the Dean of KU Business School (KUBS), opened the event by explaining its purpose. "Starting this year, KUBS launched a project called KUBS Futurum, a combined word of ‘future’ and ‘forum,’ in order to gain some understanding on the recent trends in the period of low economic growths,” he said.

The seminar consisted of Presentation Session and Discussion Session. It dealt with various subjects, including transformation strategies for Chinese enterprises and organizational obstacles to effective strategic action. During the presentation on effective strategies under low growth and high geopolitical risk, Professor Moon Jon Jungbien (Business School) asserted that international diversification strategies are needed for Korean companies, comparing the economy of Korea with that of Japan in 1990s.
