On November 28, the Students’ General Assembly was held successfully at the Central Plaza, with over 2,000 Korea University (KU) students participating in the event. To many people’s surprise, the minimum number of students needed to proceed the General Assembly was met. Students gathered to freely discuss and vote on four agendas.

With the previous General Assembly being held in 2011, the opening of the assembly once seemed impossible. However, Park Se Hoon (’13, Political Science and International Relations), the president of the KU Student Association (KUSA), declared the opening after the quorum was satisfied. “More than 2,000 students gathered on the same day, same time, and same place to make our voices be heard. President Yeom Jae Ho would have to take the gatherings of students in this cold weather very seriously,” he said.

Students consented on all the agendas which include resolution for the KU students to act against the Park Geun Hye Administration, withdrawal of the Crimson College plan, abolishment of school-system revisions, and request for the establishment of a democratic KU. After the assembly, students marched along the roads around the campus, eventually heading for the Main Hall.
