On June 28, Korea University (KU) Incheon Business People Association and Incheon Namgu Multicultural Family Support Center (ICTMFC) jointly hosted a social service event called “The Meal of Love.” Consisted of KU alumni entrepreneurs residing in Incheon, KU Incheon Business People Association has been actively participating in regional social work in Incheon, beginning 10 years ago every spring and fall.

This year’s theme was seniors and children being treated to tasty Vietnamese cuisines by multicultural daughters-in-law. The event was held at Hakick Marketplace Multicultural Center. The main menu included Vietnamese rice noodles, goi cuon, and cha gio. Over 100 volunteer workers from KU Incheon Business People Association and multicultural families prepared enough food for 400 local seniors and children in need. The food was also delivered to local silver hall and senior citizens living alone.

Shim Kwan-shik (’73, History), president of KU Incheon Business People Association, said, “We began volunteer work as a way of giving back and sharing with local folks the trust we have received as KU alumni from society.” He added, “We will practice neighborly love by showing sincere caring and giving to neglected social groups.”
