The festival of Korea University, 39th IPSELENTI: Roar of JI(知, Wisdom) Ya(野, Wildness) 2016, took place in Korea University main field on May 28th, which was the last day of Korea University festival week. As the finale of 2016 KU festival, Ipselenti provided KU students with unforgettable memories and excitement.

The main event began at 2 P.M with a performance of female idol group ‘Playback’. Then, cheering session took place and all KU students formed circles and danced to cheerleading songs of KU. After the first cheering session ended, performances of duo singing group ‘Akdong Musician’ and female solo singer ‘Younha’ followed, and KU students excitedly sang along famous songs of those musicians.

The second cheering session began at 5 P.M. All KU students created a large number of circles again with their friends and simultaneously sang along the songs to create deafening shouts. Then came performances of several well-known musicians and idol groups that heated up the atmosphere of Ipselenti. Starting from rock band ‘Nobrain’, musicians including ‘Gummy’, ‘Jessica’, ‘Red Velvet’, and ‘Shinee’ gave spectacular performances and created electricity in the air. The fever peaked when hiphop group ‘Epik High’ appeared as the last invitation singer right after colorful fireworks covered the sky of the main field. The entire event finally ended with Epik High’s famous song called ‘One’, which was also the theme of this year’s Ipselenti.

Jung Jun(’16, School of Interdisciplinary Studies) said “My first Ipselenti after I came to Korea University allowed me to feel the enthusiasm and passion of college life. Especially, the songs Epik High sang in front of us were very special to me because I used to hear those songs when I was a high school student. I am already looking forward to next year’s Ipselenti.”
