Korea University (KU) Guro Hospital recently announced that Professor Oh Mi-mi’s Team, which consists of Professor Oh and Nurse Specialist Kim Hyun-joo, in the Department of Urology received a “Best Poster Winner” at the 2016 American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting.

 

The subject of their acclaimed poster is “The effects of a heating pad on anxiety, pain and distress during urodynamic study in the female patients with stress urinary incontinence.” The study was undertaken with the purpose of providing a more comfortable experience for patients experiencing urinary system problems.

 

AUA is one of the most prestigious associations in the field of urology. The 2016 AUA Annual Meeting was held in San Diego, California (CA), United States (US) on from May 6 to 10. The meeting was attended by over 16,000 urologic healthcare providers from all over the globe. At San Diego’s main convention center, over 260 companies showcased their products.

 

Upon receiving the prize, Professor Oh said, “I very much appreciated the academia’s enthusiastic response. “I will continue my research so that patients can have a more comfortable and satisfactory experience when having their urinary system examined,” she added. Kim also commented, “I will continue to do my utmost best to provide a patient-oriented service through specialty nursing and continued research.”
