Korea University (KU) celebrated its 111th anniversary this year in various ways. On May 5th, Korea University held “Korea University’s 111th anniversary celebration and Korea University people’s day’” on the lawn in front of the main hall. During the ceremony, many awards were given to people who contributed to the growth of Korea University. The attendees included alumni, faculty members, and guests from 12 foreign universities.
                                               
On the same significant day, the KU Pride Club lounge finally opened to both commemorate the school’s 111th anniversary and accommodate club members who visit school. Now the members who donate around ₩70 million a month to the school have a place to stay and rest in the underground of Central Plaza.
 

On May 11th, at five thirty p.m., an outdoor concert was held in the lawn of Central Plaza to celebrate Korea University’s 111th anniversary. Symphony SONG(Symphony Orchestra for the Next Generation) played a few pieces of famous classical music on a wing body truck. Also, KU and Symphony Song reached an agreement that includes Symphony SONG supporting KU Art Leadership Program’s cultivated campus project, providing musical contents for KU’s events, and providing help to various music clubs in KU. After watching the concert, Seo Yoon Chang(’16, International Studies) stated “I was surprised to hear that students will receive aid from outside of school. It would be great if the school would publicize it more.”
